Game Design Report

The first 3D software i'm going to look at is DAZ 3D. DAZ allows you different pre-made things such as props, charactors and location. You then are able to change the current image for example change the clothes or hair on your character. DAZ is a free to download programme although you have to pay to add on different features for example you may not want the standard location but want a beach effect. You're able to create different things on Daz for example making illustrations that could later on be used for comics or even book covers, lastly in Daz you're able to create your own CG movies with the content available.
The second programme i looked at was called Mudbox and it costed $870 (dollars) although you are able to download a free trial which gives you 30 days to use this product. Mudbox (autodesk) gives you different download options, one for if your a student and one if you're just using it for a trail run.
In mudbox you're able to create realistic loking images for example one user you're able to see a 3D version of Harry potter that looks  nearly life like.  This product seems to focus more around the fact of you buiding your own sculpters where as DAZ was telling you and revolving more around the fact that you were able to use pre-sets or things that are already on the programme. The mudbox product seems to base it more for professionals and people who are better off and knowing what they're doing compared to Daz who makes it seem easy to create a 3D piece.
I wasn't able to find many 3D artists although i found some information for the following;
Raphael Lacoste was born in paris. Raphael has a job at Ubisoft Montreal, as an art director. Ubisoft have made many games for different platforms such as xbox and PS3, ubisoft are one of the biggest game production companies in the world who have created millions of pound sin profit. Raphael has worked on games such as Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time and has won awards for them. Raphael worked as an art director in this project.
Raphael believes that his strong points are within composition and lighting as he's a photographer.

The next artist i'm going to look at is Marek Denko who was born in Slovakia in 1980. Unlike raphael Marek is a free lancer and has gone from different jobs within 3D art, working for;  ImagesFX, Digiworks and many other places. Marek has also worked at 263 films in Milano where he worked on CG movie "Dear Anne, the Gift of Hope." Marek does other things, not just 3D work although it seems that he specialises more in things such as photography along with doing animation.

Digital 3D is something that is used within films, television and games.  This used to be in the way something was shot although now digital 3D is now put into effect in post production.
